“The tagline of this brand “Tea As It Should Be”, is very worthy. The freshness and the aroma you will feel while you open the sealed packet of the loose. You can make some black tea as well as some milk tea with this CTC leaves.
Then the very next time I soaked the tea bag for 1 minute and the result comes out very nice. The tea bag releases its colour and extract immediately. The colour of the tea is beautiful and the aroma will easily refresh your mood and mind.
The tea is very aromatic and the leaves have enough strong flavour to make your morning fresh. ”
Food Indian
Three weeks back when I had received a pack of Assam 1860, it changed my perception towards Assam tea and above all the most unlikable tea quality called ctc ( Crush, Tear, Curl) in general.
The liquor is robust and strong. However with milk, Assam 1860 unfurl nice deeper tones which is very characteristics of Assam tea, full-bodied, mellow, smooth and creamy with a distinct malty flavor. In short, if you like Indian style masala chai, this blend perfectly suits the bill.
Summing it up, if you prefer Darjeeling over Assam, and in search of good tea blend for making masala chai or milky teas, then you must try this at least once. And if you are the one who loves Assam, you would be equally impressed.

“ It was a journey of the senses from the very get-go. From the striking packaging to the beautifully hand stitched tea bags to the taste - it was pure pleasure! One sniff of the delightful aroma and a sip later, I was a fan of this black tea (CTC) with distinctive full-bodied flavors. If I had tasted it while I was in Kolkata I would have definitely brought back more with me. The beautiful packaging and pretty hand-stitched tea bags would have made a lovely gift! ”

“ The best part was the colour of the tea. The colour itself shows how rich the tea is. This tea is unique and is full of flavour and is rich in antioxidants. ”

“I have my cup with fresh mint and a dash of honey. The flavour is smooth, strong and so refreshing. With the cup of Assam 1860 in my hand, I savour my quiet time with a book or simply listen to the sounds of life outside my apartment. This special brand of tea has really brought out the hibernating poet in me. ”
Slyce of my life
“I tried both variations with Assam 1860 and found the flavours very distinct and robust. The freshness of the tea surely shines through.
I also made myself a cup of masala chai with milk and sugar and elaichi and found pouring myself a refill as well. Assam 1860 is of single origin and unblended variety. I am no tea connoisseur but definitely a tea lover and was very happy with this brand.”

“Normally, when I make tea, I also add ginger and cardamom, but this time, we decided to taste the tea in its unblended form. I just added milk and sugar. Friends loved it. It is robust, flavored, refreshing, strong, it has good aroma. We didn’t miss the regular spices, it had rich taste of its own.”
Padad Chai
“Though I don't drink Chai but from past 4 years my every day morning starts with making a cup of chai for him. And with Assam 1860 tea in the kitchen shelf I got more than one reason to dedicate a video to chai.”

“The flavour that hit me was strong but not harsh and had a character of its own. What really impressed me were the small mesh teabags in which the tea was packaged. ”

“ It looks not like the older packaging from the well-established Assam tea plantations…it looks like something NEW. In the cup, Assam1860 is dark amber and smells of malt with a touch of citrus. A 2.5 minute steep brings a lovely malt flavor that Assams are known for. This is not a powdery CTC but a true CTC that gives a well-rounded mouthfeel with a touch of astringency. This tea would be a wonderful “toss in your purse/pocket” to replace the usual suspect teas at your favorite restaurant. Bold, but not overwhelming, Assam1860 is a solid citizen in the Assam world. If you are a fan of hearty black teas, this tea is a good bet. Quite honestly as the packaging says, “Tea as it should be”. ”

“First, the Assam brewed from the tea bag. The aroma is malty with a hint of sun-ripened berries. The first sip is bold and velvety smooth. There's a light astringency, but not at all unpleasant. This is a tea that can kick you into gear and soothe at the same time. I may be in love.
Next, the Assam brewed from the loose tea. The aroma is malty and earthy. The first sip is so bold, my eyes are opened a little wider. This is a tea that will wake you up and boot you out the door! ”

“ While searching for the perfect Assam tea, we advise you to look no further than Assam1860. They serve tea grown in the Thowra region. Assam1860 has become a brand synnonymus with serving gourmet tea, grown in their family estates which they have ownt for 150 years. ”

“ +Assam1860 sells only a black Assam tea from the Throwra Estate both in tea bags and in loose leaf. The taste was bold and malty with just the right amount of astringency. This tea would be able to take milk and sugar if desired but I was perfectly fine drinking it straight. I tried brewing it as an iced tea and it was just as tasty, especially with a touch of orange blossom honey. ”
Tea for me please
“Sunday was spent well enjoying dipping Marie biscuits in my Assam tea which was served in my great grandmother's beautiful tea set. The Assam 1860 tea is one of a kind and brings in the aromas and flavors of the East. ”

“ Talking about the taste after a steep of 2-3 minutes this tea brings an amazing malt flavour that gives a well rounded mouthfeel. This tea is a good bet if you love black tea. ”
@Delhi_Foodie
“I first tasted it in the morning, from a tea bag. I gave a full three minutes to the brewing. It came out perfect deep brown, with a light fragrance. And the first two sips told me it was a robust and full-bodied brew, just the kind I look for in my tea. It can give one the perfect pick-me-up during the day. They aptly call it ‘Tea as it should be’. ”
